When I was in college, I had an advisor, one who I respected a great deal, who wanted me to make a choice. We were having a meeting and he said he would like to see me choose one medium and go in that direction. At the time I was doing a little bit of everything. And in many ways I still am.
I am an artist, a photographer, and a designer.
Perhaps I would be better off focusing on a single means of expressing myself. But collage has always intrigued me, and I was fortunate enough to build collages for a living for three years when I worked commercially. Add to that what's now possible through digital media, and I couldn't think of limiting myself to a single medium.
Gradually I'm incorporating more collage elements into my work. And in my mind I see where it's leading, this combination of painting and photography, and even sculpture...
Regardless of whether I'm painting, taking photographs, or designing web sites, I'm expressing myself and my ideas about design.
